Analysts Predict Boom Year for Tablet PCs

Posted in Best Telecommunication Resources, Consumer Infos, House Of Technology at 6:02 am by admin

Analysts are predicting a boom in sales for Tablet PCs this year. The prediction comes even as Apple readies itself for a product launch in this segment

Analysts at Deloitte have made some convincing arguments of their predictions that 2010 will be the year of the Tablet PC. The tablet PC is not new to the market. In fact, Microsoft has a product in this line way back in 2001 but the product did not catch on then. This was primarily because of the compromised graphics and software on the device. More importantly the tablet PC was not internet compatible which is a basic need today.

The tablet PC enables users to work without mouse or keyboard. While it is bigger than the smartphone and has more processing power than this device, the tablet PC of today also brings cutting edge mobile technology and touch screen command systems. Smaller than a notebook, these devices are highly portable and yet completely functional. Tens of millions of these products will be sold this year, analysts maintain.

The Deloitte’s consumer device trend forecast places tablet PCs on top of the most favoured devices for the current year. While the earlier version of the product did not make much money, the present day avatar, complete with connectivity will be lapped up by users, especially those who travel frequently, the report says. The key feature is expected to be connectivity which is a critical need today for both social and business relations (see office broadband).

Apple will make the best of this projected demand with its iSlate tablet PC, which is scheduled for launch soon. The product is the subject of many a discussion and much eager anticipation among Apple aficionados and other customers. Apple expects ten million iSlate sales for this year.

A Bit about Web Site Domain Registration Reviews

Posted in House Of Technology, Web Resources at 12:43 am by admin

Selecting the best domain and figuring out the best registration are the initial matters to research when building a web site. Mind you it is nearly impossible to speed up this kind of decision without some prior help. Whenever you strive to explore the best provider you will likely find that investigating the company via domain hosting reviews may be the best way to go. Reviews of domain hosting are useful but how to determine what exactly is helpful info and what is not? Just like any other business decision, you should make up your mind what features are significant to you. Using the same company for web site hosting and registration of your domain is a popular alternative. Remember, though, that months after your web site has been launched, issues like customer service may well become very important. It’s advisable not to depend upon reviews only available on the hosting company’s web site. In order to define the best suited Web registration for you, it’s absolutely essential that you get an unbiased evaluation. Make time to research into various domain hosting reviews taking into consideration what each client has to offer. What seem to be the common problems? What are the supplier’s weaknesses? Is the overall feedback positive or negative? Of course, you’ll come across positive and negative feedback. It is sensible to take a look at all the opinions with objectivity and take everything into consideration. Of course, money is a principal factor, but it is crucial to get the best bang for your buck. To help you with a selection there are a few bullets you should think through. During what hours does the provider you are reading about offer customer support? Is there a toll-free number, and can you discover from the review web site if they have a quick response time? What kind of system uptime will they commit to? What about bandwidth? You can negotiate a bundle with unlimited hosting and bandwidth, besides all kinds of other rewards.

Do they offer an uncomplicated way to make payments? Are payments automatic, and are discounts extended for full payment? In the case of a server going down, what will they do? In the long run it’s completely your decsion, however, before you make that decision, make sure you have checked out all the alternatives. Checking out relevant domain hosting reviews is usually a great way to save time and effort.

Amos Tamam Making the Taxi Industry Efficient

Posted in Credit Issues, House Of Technology, Wheelers at 3:31 am by admin

With electrical engineering training from Tel Aviv University in Israel under his belt, Amos Tamam arrived in America primed to put his knowledge to use. In the early ’80s, it was the taxi industry that provided him his first opportunity. Today, that same industry continues to drive his thoughts and endeavors.

Adopting technology and adapting it to the taxi industry is a passion of Verifone Transportation Systems, Inc. CEO Amos Tamam. His decades of experience in the industry began upon his arrival from Israel in the early 1980’s. Armed with training in electrical engineering, he inevitably immersed himself in the taxi fleet environment working on repairing taxis. He also earned invaluable know-how on fleet management.

As he acquired knowledge of the business he applied his technical insightfulness to the development of the first credit card taxi meter. He later played a major role in developing and disseminating an advanced taximeter, the Taxitronic (TX36). Now, as head of Verifone Transportation Systems, Inc., Amos Tamam oversees the Company’s taxi fare payment and automation systems in cabs in New York City and Philadelphia.

The payment system uses a taximeter that connects to a credit card reader and a wireless modem. This modem links the system to the fare payer’s financial institution. The transaction finishes upon authentication and charge approval. The system accommodates a receipt printer for a transaction record. The taxi customer then has a record of the date, time, taxi company car number, and other information. The system promotes efficiency, is cost-effective, and means cab drivers can carry less cash.

Through Verifone Transportation Systems, Inc. Amos Tamam continues his technological innovations. The Company is the first manufacturer to initiate and deliver the first integrated, taximeter based mobile card processing system. They are not resting on their laurels, as they continually develop methods to serve their taxi fleet customers better.

Ericsson Module to Allow Remote Activation of Anti Theft System

Posted in Best Telecommunication Resources, Consumer Infos, House Of Technology at 5:44 am by admin

Ericsson has announced that it will soon be launching a new mobile broadband module that will be capable of remotely activating an anti theft system for laptops. The module will be available to PC manufacturers from June, and will be seen in laptops by Dell, LG and Toshiba before the end of 2009.

The new module, which will provide embedded mobile broadband services to users, will operate on HSPA, EDGE and GPRS networks. It has been reported that the module offers a major technological jump from the current products available in the market. It will consume half the amount of energy that competing products do and would support Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 7 operating system.

The most important feature of the module is its wake-on wireless system, which lets a user remotely wake up his laptop using mobile broadband (click here for free laptop deals). A direct security implication is that if the laptop is lost or stolen, the user can simply activate the anti theft mechanism, which will lock the laptop. A locked laptop will be of no use to a thief, thus the technology has the potential to work as a deterrent against thefts. Moreover, if GPS is enabled, it will be possible to track the laptop and possibly retrieve it.

Ericsson has also been at the forefront of HSPA development, and had recently demonstrated a 56 Mb HSPA based mobile broadband connection at the CTIA Wireless Exhibition in Las Vegas.

Enhanced Embedded Mobile Broadband on Windows 7

Posted in Best Telecommunication Resources, Consumer Infos, House Of Technology at 7:43 am by admin

With the market just having adopted Vista, Microsoft is already announcing the release of its next operating system - Windows 7. Microsoft has been reporting excitedly about this latest Windows release and its various improvements. The new release also has something for the users of mobile-broadband.

Microsoft has said in its blog that Windows 7 will ensure a better OS support to wireless modems in order to improve their reliability and provide for a better customer experience. While the details on the features are still sketchy, the list of companies that will support the initiative was announced and includes companies like Asus, Huawei, Fujitsu, Siemens, and T-Mobile.

Asus recently demonstrated a 3.5G enabled Eee PC running on Windows 7. The Eee PC was equipped with Huawei’s EM770 embedded module, a brand new product made especially for Windows 7. Asus also demonstrated as to how the platform enhances high-speed mobile-broadband experience for a user.

Mobile broadband is a technology that is fast gaining ground. There is consensus that the technology will beat all other types of broadband internet connectivity within the next few years. The step by Microsoft gains significance, given the fact that it is currently being challenged by both Apple and Google in its products portfolio. By creating an OS built for the future, the company can ensure its dominance for several more years.

However, eager customers will of course have to wait until the official launch of Windows 7. The timeframe set by the company should see the launch later this year but not many will be surprised if the launch is delayed until 2011.

Massive Companies Bring High Speed Notebooks to the Masses

Posted in House Of Technology at 9:25 pm by admin

Can you think back to the era when gaming notebooks were not so accessible? For the resellers they were hugely profitable despite not selling in many volumes. Despite that people probably wanted one. Everyone reckoned they were the best laptop computers and rightly so. Regardless of the excitement caused I doubt they were amazing sellers because I don’t believe buyers would buy laptop computers instead of desktops as they were so expensive. As of late it seems larger companies are all entering the sector very quickly and things are shifting.

Lowering prices are not usual is this sector so tier 1 companies would be scooping tons of markup. This would be one of the few margin producing lines they have as they make little on the majority of others because of the massive competition. Small retailers cannot compete with them in persuading potential buyers to buy laptop computers. Smaller companies certainly have an uphill battle now. In my opinion the multinational manufacturers will control the market trends. In my opinion if anybodies going to pay a lot of money the well known brand always comes out on top.

I reckon they surely are making some of the best laptop computers out today. I reckon that littler businesses may yet have an opportunity. Being able to get specifically what components they want is a big advantage for the majority people who are considering purchasing a gaming laptop. I reckon the guys that buy gaming notebooks typically know what they are looking for. For this sort of niche, the specs are generally more important than the appearance.

All purchasers agree that it is a positive change. As this pushes down the prices even further, top end technology will become even more obtainable to the market. I am not quite sure any of that would take place however. New products are continuously being introduced and that should keep prices constantly high. The big brands have already started in the gaming laptop computers division so we will have to look and see what happens I guess.

High Quality Headphones. Who Needs Them? You Do!

Posted in House Of Technology at 11:09 am by admin

O.K. Now you’ve finally purchased your beloved iPod and your ready to listen to some tunes. Unfortunately the headset that came with it are for crap! Who wants to waste their time listening to poor audio on an expensive iPod. You want gear that will match the quality of your iPod and offer the best sound quality possible. Good news is there is a HUGE selection of quality headphones. A wide range of styles, quality, and prices. Don’t waste your time with the crap missing out on what music should sound like. Don’t be afraid to try something new and know that mixing brands is o.k.. When it is time to shop for headphones consider the following.

Fit: Fit can make a huge difference in terms of sound quality believe it or not. Ear bud headphones fit into the ear canal but don’t enclose the ear as a result of this other sounds can interfere with what your listening to. In turn ear bud users turn up the volume which damages the ears. Ear buds can also be rather uncomfortable. This type of headphone is the kind that came with your iPod.

An excellent alternative to ear buds are the enclosed model of earphones with padding. This type of headphone contains what is called a dynamic transducer, and in my opinion offers the best type of audio listening experience. Another type of headphones is headsets that fit tightly on the head or wrap around the head DJ style.

Another alternative are the Canal Phones. These are designed to fit comfortably inside the ear canal and provide better sound with more isolation and good bass. Canal phones are considered to be more effective and safer than other headphones. They are able to eliminate most of the external noise. Which in turn means you won’t have to turn up the volume in order to hear it, reducing the possibility of hearing loss. The lesson here is find headphones that block external noise, then you won’t have to turn up your volume!

A nifty feature on some enclosed headphones is a noise cancellation feature. This is used when there is a hissing, or you can hear external noises which lessens your listening experience. All you have to do is flip a switch to take advantage of this feature. The background noise will be cancelled out and all you hear is sweet music to your ears!

Wireless headphones are also another great feature available for people on the go who don’t want to be “tied down”. The one draw back is wireless headphones usually have a small broadcasting range. Try and find one that offers a good range so you can wander far and wide!
