Nelson, who brings more than 20 years of insurance industry knowledge to his new product development for private pension, is licensed to practice law in Minnesota. Nelson was also General Counsel for KMG America Corporation, a publicly held insurance holding company. Before his time at KMG, Nelson served as Senior Associate General Counsel (Securities and Investment Law) and Chief Legal Officer for the mutual fund function at Thrivent Financial. Nelson also spent time as Counsel at ING (formerly Reliastar Financial) in Minneapolis.
Nelson, for his part, said he was happy with the new appointment and that he looks forward to starting work.
