Reading Glasses
Stock reading glasses are obtainable with bifocal lenses where there is a line that differentiates the lower reading lens from the upper clear lens. No-line reading glasses separate the lens as well but there is no visible line between the two lens viewing areas. As you direct your eyes down from the upper half of the lens, the magnification increases slowly allowing you to see better at different close up distances. Reading glasses with tinted lenses are designed so that you can read in bright light. For reading in the sun, some people wear regular sunglasses with contact lenses underneath. Or you can don regular sunglasses with stick on magnifiers. The only real trouble with stock reading glasses is that they may not work good for your eyesight.
Just like non-prescription eyeglasses, reading glasses are available either with a full frame, a half-frame or as no-frame rimless reading glasses. Half-frame reading glasses and rimless reading glasses are pragmatic because it is easier to look over the top of the frame when switching from close-up to distance viewing. Rimless reading glasses are very pragmatic because your eyes do not have negotiate around the frame when looking up. The edge of the lens does not obstruct your vision the way an eyeglass frame does. Those that get reading glasses for reading their computer monitor often find that reading glasses make it harder to actually view the screen. This can cause someone to shift their posture which can lead to neck strain, back strain and eye strain which only diminishes your eyesight and ultimately advances your prescription.
